Happy Birthday Dad

This is my grossi and her little sister. Grossi is on the right, Aunty Rosie is on the left. Aren't they beautiful? And they are two of the sweetest, most loving women I know. I am blessed indeed to come from such a heritage. (PS this is a picture of them celebrating my dad's birthday - he's visiting them in Switzerland right now. Happy Birthday Dad).

And this is dad's uncle Sammy and his wife Clari. Oncle Sammi still "hikes" up mountains and skis. I say "hike" because his hikes involve more like mountain climbing and often last days. Again...I have an amazing heritage. Oncle Sammi won't take me hiking with him because he says I'm not in good enough shape (well, duh. But still, it's pretty humiliating to be told that by your great uncle who is in his 80s.)

A new trick every day

So, like most babies, Davey doesn't like sun shining in his eyes. We try very hard to accomodate him - pulling the visor forward when he's in the car, and shielding him from it outside. Sometimes though, we forget, or just can't avoid the sun.

Like this morning when I was walking to the park with Davey, my friend Jamie, and her daughter Devin. Davey was wearing a hoodie...and I looked down to see him yanking the hood right over his face (half way down his chest in fact). I thought maybe it had been irritating him (the hood is rather big) after all. But later today we were driving. The sun got in his eyes again. So Davey took his baseball cap off his head and shoved it on over his face.

Your complaint has been duly noted, child. We'll work on that sun thing for you...

On another note though, I got some wonderful pictures of him outside today. Prepare yourself to be dazzled when Daddy gets home with mom's laptop :)

Andrew is taking off for San Diego for a week. Not only is he leaving me and Davey alone here for SIX days (and heading off to San Diego of all places, shouldn't computer conferences be in boring places, like, oh I don't know. Silicon Valley - though even that's too interesting.) Anyway, he's leaving us alone AND taking his lap top.

So though I'll have access to email and I can still post text here, I won't be able to load pictures. He's back VERY LATE Saturday night. Expect a weeks worth of postings FIRST THING Sunday!! I'll be in massive blogger withdrawal by then...

Hawaiian Luau

Today we had a family party for Kat's birthday. Yeah, we had a lot of parties for her, but our family will take any excuse to party - especially if the party involves food!!

almost everyone's on...and I have no idea how she ended up with them...

After the eating, I got to play with these two cute Hawaiian babies. Though Davey looks like he can't decide if he's Elvis on holiday in Hawaii, or some kind of Roman royalty...

It was my little sister, Kat's 24th birthday yesterday. Didn't get to wish her a happy birthday on here cause I forgot the camera at her house. But here's a photo tribute to her...a day late.
