Look at the intense concentration on his face. This is Davey deciding to go DOWN the very steep ladder on the slide.

Apparently I've fallen victim to the blog curse. Can't get anything more than what I did below to publish through blogger. So here's the last picture I HAD to publish today...

Never thought I'd be accused of this...

A friend of mine was complaining to me that I don't post enough pictures of Elisabeth on my blog. Apparently she checks religiously, always expecting to see pictures of El, and all I ever have are pictures of Davey (poor kid, not even out of diapers and already he's getting dissed). So here, out of spite, are about ten billion pictures of Tink and a few of the rest of us...

Is that comfortable Jade?

Proud big brother Davey holds his little sister, with Jadey's supervision of course.

With Ashlie away at VBS, Jadey FINALLY gets to hold ALL of Tink (and not just her feet...)

Three bears in the bed and the little one said....

Oh what fun it is to play in someone else's crib (with someone else's toys...)

I wish I'd had the camera just two minutes earlier...Davey was holding his baby in one hand, with a blankie pulled up snugly over both of them, and with the thesaurus in the other hand was reading them both a morning story. What a great big brother he is!

Davey's baby even comes for lunch with him. Look how taking care of her supersedes even his need to eat...

We took family pictures today. Our family isn't very good at serious pictures...But Tink looks good.

Take THAT Dr. T!!!

Since I'm going to be out tomorrow afternoon, I decided to take Elisabeth to the doctors to be weighed today. For those of you who missed it, Tink was 8 pounds 10 last Wednesday, but my doctor wanted to see her get beyond her birthweight so I had to bring her back this week for another weigh.

So this morning me and my girl set out. And guess what?! Nine pounds FOUR ounces! She beat the goal by FOUR ounces and in one day less than we'd hoped for. hah hah hah.

Though if she keeps this up, she'll be gaining 2 pounds a month!! Yowsers.

The midgets decided to have a picnic in David's crib today. Popcorn, teddy bears and shoes left on. Sounds like fun!

David tries to eat as much of the popcorn as he can before Jade gets a chance to have any. He must get that from his father...

Two Weeks ALREADY?!?!

Wow! Hard to believe it's already two weeks since Elisabeth was born.

I haven't really had a chance to blog about how things are going with her. So here's a mini update:

On Wednesday Tink had her first doctor's appointment. She weighed 8lb 10 oz again, which brings her back up to her birthweight from 8 lb 1 oz in exactly seven days. Not bad in my opinion. My doctor was hoping to see more gain though, so I have to bring her back again on Wednesday. He's hoping that she'll be at least 9 pounds by then. If she gains at the same rate she did the previous week, she should be at least that.

Sleeping is going better. We had tried several different things to try to get our sleep and have her sleep for 'longer' periods of time. The only thing that was getting me more than 1/2 hour sleep seemed to be having her sleep on my chest while I sat on the couch. Not too much fun. Finally last week I tried putting her in her car seat and that seemed to go pretty well so on Thursday we got a bassinet. Now we're managing one three hour sleep per night (usually around 9 or 10) and sometimes even a 2 hour sleep, and several one hour sleeps. That's so much better than the three or four hours total I was getting!

Nobody is going to believe this...but Tink is smiling already. Davey smiled early too and everyone told me it was just gas. But Tink definitely smiles when she knows food is coming, she smiles at her cousins, and she smiles at her dad. Friday night I'm sure she laughed. What can I say, she's a clever kid. She cranes her head and upper body to watch TV when she can hear it's on (and she's not focused on nursing), she's batted her hands at me, and at Ashlie. She tries to hold her head up and twist to see who is talking. Mum thinks she's going to be like me (God forbid. I could climb out of my crib before six months, was walking at 7, ran away from home before I was two...). I think she just knows her dad likes intelligence in his women (I managed to fool him. hah hah hah).

Not much else to report on that whole front. But here's a picture of David enjoying an ice cream in honour of tink's 2 week birthday...Not too long after this picture was taken, the little danger boy was standing on a foam chair, put a blanket over his head, and did a faceplant on to Grandma's hard wood floor. I think he split his lip. He won't let anyone look at him to see if he's hurt, but his bib was pretty bloody. War wounds. And his first 'major' injury. Wow.

The Lego Exhibit at Surrey Museum

We decided to take David to see the Lego exhibit at the Surrey Museum today, being as it was the last day of the show. I'd never been to the museum before and had no idea how cool it would be. Both kids were really good. I got to see almost everything before Tink needed feeding and Davey loved the exhibit - the antique stuff the best surprisingly.

Here's some pictures...

Cute little house. The pictures of the inside of a house near the bottom of this posting are from inside. Amazing how much stuff they crammed in such a tiny little space!

Davey loved this bear, stood and looked at it for ages. Of course, I didn't think to snap a picture till he was done...

Look at how huge this car is! Somewhere along the scale of a suburban I would think. Talk about a family car....

Me and Tink didn't make it into many pictures, so here's us crashing at the end of a busy day.
