Elisabeth's room. The bookcase and scalloped shelf are new. Need to add books still though.

Also got her some curtains.



One day we'll hang the scalloped shelf up on the wall. For now Davey likes to rearrange the baskets and stuffed toys. Yes, he can reach that high.





Davey's closet. I painted his room this week. Same colour as our master bath.



I have a shelf I want to put up by the rocking chair to put his favorite bed time stories on. Need to find some screws and break out the power drill...

I need to add his books.

Last Thursday, after preschool, we stopped to visit my mamma. Davey and Tink were SO happy to be at grandma's house!





If I make loud scary noises while I'm taking pictures, sometimes the kids will smile. But I end up with a loud scary face.

Hmn. I was wondering how my cellphone ended up with chocolate all over it.



This is Andrew and my first house. Not the dark brown one, the little white one in front. From the moment I moved to Langley in '94 I knew I wanted to live on the hill in Willoughby one day. We were lucky enough to find this teenie tiny cottage (less than 600 square feet!) on a hobby farm/school property.

Most of that hill has been sold to make way for townhouses. This was our landlords' house:

This week we went to Cultus Lake. Our first time since moving to Chilliwack. I KNOW!! It's changed a lot too, but it's also a lot nicer than I remember. Like it doesn't stink like Crescent Beach does. And you can see the botttom of the lake. WOW.



And there's an awesome playground at the first beach.











Davey scaled this tree stump all by himself. He's gettig more adventurous these days.

With Andrew at work again, I tend to feed the kids before he gets home. They're starving by 430 and he's not home till 6, so you might understand why!!

Tonight at dinner I decided to try filling out a questionnaire Davey is supposed to bring back to preschool. Parts of it he can draw his answers in, and parts I need to write in. The questions were pretty basic...what is your favorite food, what do you like to do, what do you want to be when you grow up...after much prodding and leading, davey decided that when he grows up he wants a sailboat for on the water. He wasn't even interested in any of the other questions except for this one:

me: if you had a magic wand, what would you do with it?
davey: hmnnnnn
me: do you know what a magic wand is?
davey: is this a train??
me: what would you do with a magic wand?
davey...after hemming and hawing and thinking: give it back to the witch man!

Now...I don't even know how he knows what a magic wand is, let alone a witch man, but I thought, you know, I like that answer. I mean, I definitely don't want him playing with a magic wand. or anything else that isn't his. So...good answer Davey!!And way to think completely differently from everyone else in your class!!

every time I walk into the kitchen today, davey is eating something.

he must be making up for hardly eating anything the 12 days his grandparents were here!!

Back to Regular Programming...

The past two months have been busy ones for the ProjectDavid household: in july we moved from Langley alllll the way across the Fraser Valley and up a mountain.

In August, Grandma and Gramps came out from Alliston, Ontario to visit (and to meet Elisabeth!) As you can see, we had a busy 12 days and managed to show them most of what this end of the valley has to offer. Dad and Gramps even managed to golfing at Cultus Lake one day!!

On the last full day they were here, Gramps and Daddy watched the kids while Mummy and Grandma went to the Minter Gardens nursery and gift store. While we had Brian Minter running all over the place for us (he really did. Leona went with all her notes and his latest newsletter and she had him running all over looking for things for her and even offering to ship bulbs to Ontario for her!) We also made a 'quick' three hour stop at House of James. There is SO much to look at and lots of yummy things to eat too!



Then on Tuesday Grandma and Gramps flew back home and Davey headed back to Langley for his first day of school. Yes that's right. Preschool. He was very scared/shy until he saw Jadey and then he got a little bit excited.

On Tuesday night Grosspapa arrived and camped out in the living room with Davey. Yah, we didn't let him have the guest room...

Grosspapa managed to persuade Davey to have a bath with him.



On Wednesday we were back at Harrison for lunch and some sandcastle building. MAN was it ever hot!! I hope that the weather lasts till Saturday so we can go again.





Tink tries her first lemon. MNNNNN yum...

And now everyone (even Daddy) is gone (though Daddy's only back at work, so we see a little of him...) We were going a bit stir crazy after being used to so much excitement.

Luckily work has begun on the park they're building on the other side of our complex. So we went for a walk then spent about half an hour watching the dump trucks come and get loaded up with dirt. Then they drive off. New dump trucks come and dump their double load of dirt, get filled up with dirt from the hill, then drive off again. Davey thought it was seriously cool.

Tinky has started calling Davey "dadey". It sounds like Jadey only with a d at the front. SO cute! And they're very huggy and kissy with each other. When I finally pried Davey away from watching the trucks I crammed them both in my single stroller so they had to ride with their arms around each other. They actually seemed to like it better than the double stroller. Hmnnn...
