Sunday we took a trip to Minter Gardens. It was a perfect day for it; not too hot, sunny, and not too busy!

Tink was especially drawn to the pink flowers. Too bad this picture is so fuzzy. But you can see her funny face anyway.

Both kids brought their cameras for the trip (I'll be downloading and posting David's pictures sometime soon!)



These tulips were just gorgeous. I'm so planting tulips this fall. I can't believe I've never done it before!

Poor David just wanted to take a nap. Elisabeth was NOT letting that happen.

But he just used her as a pillow.





All over the park there were all sorts of new features/rearranging. The kids' section was no exception. They've got these great thrones in the shed. See?

Davey: Marry me?

Davey: Oh come on...
Elisabeth: Get lost!

Davey: Come back! We're at the wedding chapel.
Elisabeth: Go away boy. You've got cooties.

Davey: STOP!

Elisabeth: You can't make me. I'm outta here!

And off she ran.

We went to Minter Gardens today. We have lots of great pictures but mummy's going to sleep now, upload later. Check out what else we've been up to this week in the meantime though...

At the Junkyard with Daddy

Daddy and the kids got a new mirror for our car (ours fell off while we were shopping at Home Depot last weekend...long story). We're so blessed to have a handyman who can fix things like that...and do it while mummy enjoys coffee with her bestest writing group!

On our balcony

When the weather turns nice, our family pretty much moves outside. In this house that means we spend a lot of time on our balcony. It's nice there. Plus it's where we keep the bbq.


We really like to be surrounded by growing things. This side is the flowers:

And this is our salsa garden. Tomatoes and peppers. MNNNNNNNN.

And cute kids. We like to be surrounded by cute, happy kids.

And delicious, summery food. Like curry glazed chicken and mango avacado salad.


Sometimes we even let the grumpy kids sit on the balcony.

Just an average day at our house...

On any given day you might find us watering our new plants.

Or relaxing by the pool.

One or more of us will probably have fallen over and need some hugs, popsicles and bandaids.

You might even find us planting a tree or two.

Cause it's almost summer and that's "totally wicked!"

Here are a few random pictures from the last couple of days. I'm also going to insert some random thoughts in here...

Every single day, before he can put his clothes on, Davey has to make what he calls a "Clothes Skeleton." In a way, I think it's how he makes sure that he's got all aspects of his wardrobe ready.

This is Elisabeth whining to be picked up. She's been having a lot of trouble getting off to sleep lately. While this is annoying (you know, you're finally getting some alone time and the kids keep coming downstairs over and over and over again...) she always comes down the stairs singing. Softly and in a high pitched little voice. It's so cute!

For the first time ever, Elisabeth started talking about getting married today. Which set Davey off. "Getting married is when you hold hands and you kiss like this."




The lighting in my bedroom was kind of neat so I thought I'd try and get some pictures.


This is the superman pose. Having his hands on his hips was very important to the pose.

Today we met Natasha and Seth for coffee at the Calliope Cafe at Minter Gardens Country Store. After we'd sampled some Island Farms we wandered around and looked at plants and trees...and water features.

This is where they have the Christmas train in December. We followed the tracks for a while, but all we saw were tractors, no trains.


Still we held out hope...

We got home and took our scooters our for a ride.


Then we whisked Daddy away to the river. We weren't the only family out enjoying the nice spring evening.

Or a picnic on the rocks.
