Davey and Uncie Rob. After watching Uncie Rob play with Ashlie (Rob is really, really good with her. Played all her party games with her), Davey was VERY excited to play with him too. This is the first time he's ever WILLINGLY and HAPPILY gone to his uncle Rob. he's a slow learner in that regard. This is the uncle it pays to befriend Daveyboy. He's fun, has cool toys, and no kids of his own to buy things for!

After the party a tired bubby has a bath in Grammi's kitchen sink. Happily chewing on Bob the Tomato.

Wednesday
Haven't felt much like taking pictures or blogging lately. Don't think it's all about the arm. Anyway, the following three pictures are from our walk on Crescent Beach last Sunday. It was gorgeous, way nicer than on Canada Day. Though, being a true BC girl, I enjoy walks in the wind and rain almost more than in the sun.
Some of you have asked about my arm. Because the break, crack, whatever it is, is in my elbow, they didn't give me a cast. I'm massively bummed about that. The only other time I've had a broken bone was in my collar bone and I didn't get a cast for that either. What's the point of having a broken bone if you don't get the badge of honour. So I'm supposed to wear a sling, but it's too annoying.
At first I had to actually use my right hand to move my left arm any time I needed to do anything, now it's actually feeling a lot better. I have a gruesome picture of my left knee that I considered posting, but this is a family site, so I'll abstain. I managed to skin a good portion of it, and I think I'm going to get a gorgeous bruise. So the only thing is to keep working on my story. nobody believes the rock climbing one, so I have to keep thinking...
Everything is so interesting when you're a baby. Even a bench. Fascinating...

Davey wanted to sit down SOOOOO bad. We brought him back to a dryer part and let him sit and touch all the nice dirt.

dumb, dumb, dumb
you'd think at my age that i would have learned to be careful.
in a fit of impatience, i went around the side of our dinner table where all the cords for andrew's computer are. hand full of plate. it happened in slow motion...all i remember is the plate flipping through the air....the sound of it bouncing and finally shattering...thinking, "cool, now i get to buy new dishes."
i've got a break in one bone and a possible chip or something on the edge of another. DOH!!!
what a stupid way to break a bone. i don't even have a cool story. i'm going to make up something about rock climbing in squamish....
(andrew says i have to mention the break is in my elbow. so you can imagine how challenging it is trying to do anything for davey. i'm such an idiot. i hope i learned my lesson!)

Davey got new sunglasses today. He loves them cause they're fun to chew on. I love 'em cause it means he might not chew on mine so much...

A Day At the Zoo
Yesterday we took Davey to the zoo for the first time. Yah, he's probably a bit young yet, but it's always been one of our favorite places. And Davey seemed to enjoy it. I don't think he noticed most of the animals (unless they were close enough to touch) but as usual he LOVED watching the people. ESPECIALLY the other little boys. He's just rarin' to get down and play with them!!

This old grandfather obliged us by posing for a picture. He'd been lying flat on his side so you could hardly see him, but sat right up and smiled pretty for his picture. Isn't he kingly?
