Monday June 20: A Mini Road Trip

On Monday we took a day trip to Prince Edward County. It's about an hour and a ferry ride from Kingston. We stopped at the Lake on the Mountain, Picton to wander through some shops, and then drove out to the Sandbanks (WOW nice beach!) and then visited Wesley Acres before driving home again. It was the Most Perfect day.

This is Lake on the Mountain. It was really, really pretty up here. 

Davey took some steps (holding dad's hand of course)...and walked right off the edge onto the rocks. Guess he doesn't have that whole danger thing worked out yet... 

Seen through the window of a flower shop...There are three cats in that pile! And there were at least two more on the other side of the entrance.

Davey LOVED splashing in the water. Almost as much as he loved playing in the sand. 

Nothing but beach and blue water...as far as the eye could see. *sigh*

Out for a ramble between beaches. Unfortunately I had no idea what to expect at the Sandbanks, so I hadn't packed for us to go for a hike...but we did manage a little ramble into the woods...I have at least 20 bites on my feet to prove it! 

When Andrew was a child, his family would visit Wesley Acres, once even moving there for the summer. It always sounded so idyllic...now that I've seen this place (see the next few pictures) I'm even MORE jealous of his golden childhood.

Isn't this a pretty church? If we sold our townhouse here in Langley, we could buy this church to live in. In Picton. Within 20 minutes of the sandbanks. Hmnnnnn.... 

The day ends as it began (doesn't he look cute sleeping with his leg up all boylike??? Yah. We think so).
