Davey's been doing really well with his potty training. So as his reward, he's decided this is what he wants. The boy has good taste.

More Catching Up!
Saturday we went back to the toddler park. You can tell from the pictures that Tink is still feeling a bit under the weather.
This is the day Davey decided he wasn't using diapers anymore. And in my opinion, the day he went from being a baby to a boy in so many ways!
He's much more helpful, willing to carry a conversation, and obedient. Loving it!

My little danger girl. She's such a climber.
She couldn't figure out how to get into the pirate ship, so she decided to climb in backwards. Davey decided he couldn't wait for her to get inside. So he just walked right over her. Luckily it didn't phase her and she just got up and kept playing.
Waiting for someone to come along and give him a ride.
Riding the sea monster. Though it was his idea, he wasn't quite sure if it was a good idea.
Tink on the other hand LOVES the sea monster!

Here we are out for a walk around some of the new developments going in around us. We live at the end of a no exit road. There are roads going off to the east of us, but we're at the western and northern end of the road...and none of the eastern roads leaves our 'peninsula'. In every direction - north, east and south - there are new houses or developments going in. It makes it a little scary to walk during the day since there is just SO MUCH building and so many gravel trucks. But in the evening it can make for very interesting walks...
Tink enjoyed having mittens to play with. So long as she could see Davey she was happy to be in the stroller. As soon as he was out off her line of sight, she called for him to come back until she could see him again.
We were walking too slow for his liking, so he kept running away from us.
Here I caught him getting up from a cat nap in a driveway...
Playing in the yard...
Stealing Tink's hat.
And today I watched the girls at mums while Kat went to the dentist. While davey and Jadey watched youtube, tink danced.
awwwww
Ash seems to grow by leaps and bounds.
She's such a little mother!!

I still have a bunch more pictures to blog, but the camera is in the car and it's so windy out, I don't want to go get it. Even though the car is in our garage I know it will be cold down there! I'm a wuss. Sue me ;)
Today we drove out to Langley to watch the Veggie Tales: Pirates Who Don't Do Anything. You may recall that last year I tried to take Davey to see Surf's Up. I confused the starting time of that movie and we walked into the theatre just as the previews were starting. It was dark, loud and very scary for a 2.5 year old. We didn't even make it ten minutes into the movie. So I wasn't sure how things would turn out today.
We got there 15 minutes before starting time to make sure our newly potty trained boy would have time to take care of business and still have plenty of time to find our seats and get used to the theatre. Tink decided she wanted popcorn (she could see other kids eating it) so I went to grab some while Andrew stayed with the kids. Of course while I was gone the previews started so as I came in the theater I could hear her cry out a bit. Davey on the other hand, was fine.
Tink lunged for my lap and made herself comfortable in her "i'm scared" pose. Sitting with her side against my front and her head tucked under my chin. So she could turn to see the screen or turn to bury her face in my chest if she was scared.
She stayed very quiet through the whole movie, though she did eventually sit with her back against me and watch the movie. Davey was very into the movie, laughing and shouting and totally enjoying it.
It was Andrew's first movie since we saw I, Robot in September of '04 just before David was born!! For people who used to watch a LOT of movies...wow. It's been a while!
I think the kids are finally getting better. They both have nasty sounding coughs, but they're back to normal sleeping patterns and a bit more lively.
On Friday night my dad babysat for us and while we were out Andrew and I decided to potty train Davey this weekend. Through all the trials we've had attempting it, we decided we would just jointly insist that he HAD to get trained this weekend...or else. We were prepared to stay home the whole weekend if that was what it took to make sure it happened. So imagine our delight when he informed us on Saturday morn that he was not going to use diapers anymore. And it seems to have stuck. He's had a few accidents, but only what's to be expected. And he's even gotten out of bed every evening to use the potty one last time. I'm so impressed! Now it's tink's turn!
I also saw on Kelly's blog that she and Taeya have gotten a Ready Bed for camping this summer. Since we're going to be doing a LOT of travelling this summer/fall (visiting my grandma, Staff Conference, visiting Andrew's folks...), I've been wondering what to use for the kids. They're both too big for playpens but I wanted something small and kidlike for them. I don't know why I didn't think of Ready Beds since that's what Jade and Ash use when they come for sleep overs. Anyway, we were in Zellers today and they had them on Clearance so I grabbed two. When we're in Langley tomorrow I'm going to see if they have a Cars one for Davey, otherwise he's getting Backyardigans and Tink's getting the ever popular Dora (even though Diego's her favorite!)
Do any of you watch Global News in the morning? If I ever manage to get up before Davey in the morning, I watch it with Tink (otherwise it's CBC kids!) She LOVES Chris Carter!! As soon as he comes on the TV she gets the biggest grin and starts babbling away at him. I wonder if that means she's going to be an accountant like her Uncle Rob??

I had just about given up on ever posting pictures on here again. Good thing my mum asked me if I was posting. It motivated me to try one more time.
Elisabeth has figured out how to get the youtube videos to play on her own now. If leave the door to my closet open, I'll find her sitting at my computer and listening to Veggie Tales on youtube. Check out that cheeky face!!
Not feeling very well the other day...
In our back yard. They decided they wanted to do some gardening. So long as they're not digging up my indoor plants...
One day last week we went for a stroll by the river. The kids still weren't 100% so we didn't go too far.
I love this little face. Just makes me want to give him kisses looking at it!
Libs getting a ride on mamma's shoulders. And rearranging my hair while she's up there.
Lately she brings he their play-doh scissors and asks me to cut her hair. Maybe if you had some, hon!
Pure cuteness!
On Thursday my dad rolled into town. He stayed with us till Saturday then headed back to Surrey to my brother's. We took him to our favorite park.
Two seconds after we got out of the car, it started hailing and raining. So we decided to try out the Go Bananas.
This place has such an awesome playground. But my kids just wanted to play in the arcade. Davey beat me at this motor cycle game. ON HIS OWN.
Daddy wouldn't let him play this one. Daddy still needs to learn to share.
Libby racing round the edge of the ball pit. Yep, she fell in once. Thought it was Awesome!!
Rescuing stray balls and putting them back in the pit.
Then she got to try the motor cycle game.
"Stop taking pictures, I just want to play!!"
Finally persuaded Davey in here. He was terrified.
What she really wanted to do was go up into the big people part of the play area. So Andrew gamely took her up (well, actually by the time he got his shoes off, she'd already scaled the climbing wall and was on her way through the maze. He raced to catch up!)
Yes, they were three levels up...You can see all the way down to the ground through the slats in the bridge. She wasn't scared at all. Never occured to her!
Davey meanwhile is a little scared of all these things. So he played on the front loader and looked at the murals instead.
WHEEEEE outta the slide!
