Afternoon Playtime

Afternoons are interesting. Davey isn't napping anymore, and Tink doesn't always have a second nap. It makes for some "fun" times. So I try to distract the kids until dinner time. But then there's that finicky window...if you distract them for too long, they're too tired to eat dinner.

So today I took the kids outside (here's a good shot of davey's hair by the way...yes, it finally is coming in! It's super curly when it's wet, but just looks messy - think genius hair - the rest of the time). Tinky's two favorite things are the swing and this car. Maybe once we've had a dry spell for a while we can start doing things like sitting on the grass and playing in the sandbox.

Davey is all about playing with his inside toys while we're outside. I found his Thomas Trains in his pedal car today. He's been asking for them for a couple of days. I didn't even know he'd taken them outside! Today he had his jeeps out offroading.



So I took his sister offroading too.

And since watching several vehicles wreck on Cars, Davey loves talking about crashes. "Slow down, you're going too fast. Don't crash!" oh yah, he even says that to us when we're driving. Have a little confidence kid!!


Here he's racing Elisabeth through the puddles as fast as he can run. Note the one-armed push? yah, he's a man alright.
