Grouse Mountain, we love you so!

The best part about having a all access local's pass to the mountain is we can head up there whenever we like. We'd been doing a lot of event specific things but hadn't wandered around so this time that's what we decided to do.

They've left their light tunnel up all year, it was still pretty even in the light.

While we were wandering, we met a young fellow from San Francisco who'd done the Grouse Grind three days in a row. Because he didn't want to pay to come up the gondola. BUT get this, he hadn't ventured out of the restaurant. He'd been walking up to meet friends for drinks and never looked at everything else on top of the mountain.

We strongly encouraged him to take advantage of everything else the mountain has to offer!

I love this little lake and the house at the end of it.

We often do this walk in the winter too. It's amazing how different it is in the snow compared to summer time. Like, one time we did it, it was so icy we ended up sliding down most of it on our butts and praying we didn't die in a tree well. We're responsible parents like that.

This is the bear habitat. Isn't it pretty.

And that gorgeous building nestled at the bottom of the hill here, is the bear's den for where they hibernate in the winter.

About at these steps is where I usually hear people speaking Swiss German and then I get homesick and cry. We Swiss love our mountains.

After our little walk we hoped to catch a bird show. We missed it.

So then we wandered over to the lumberjack show. It's always exactly the same and we love it.

Even the same actors in it as last year, but they're so good.

Elisabeth insisted on getting her picture taken because it's tradition!

And then we visited the bears. Love them bears.
