On the sixteenth David's class and the grade 2/3 class got to attend one of the Paralympic games. Sledgehockey in fact. Andrew took the day off and accompanied him on the bus to UBC to watch the game.
David's teacher had asked the kids to wear red and white even though the game was actually between Sweden and Italy. So we also painted a maple leaf on David's cheek and gave him a red fauxhawk.
But he decided to cheer for Alexis (Italy).
While waiting to get into the stadium, David got to meet and high five Sumi! I think that may have been the highlight of the day for him.
Here's a shot of the action from where they were seated. It was a close game, but ultimately Sweden won.
