Round up

I quit my job in August. I'd been there pretty much forever, except for a bit to have babies. It was a bit traumatic. My coworkers threw me a thing.

My bosses weren't there, but that pretty much sums up what life there was like anyway, so...

Good bye tomatoes.

My best friend from grad 2 died. It was also traumatic. We went to her funeral, and then we went to South Surrey because I just needed the ocean.

Also, we were hungry, so we got pastries.

David built a firebird. That was not traumatic.

And I took Jenna and Liz to watch Mama Mia 2. They refused to sit with me and that was traumatic; then we found out that the mom in the movie was dead and that was also traumatic. but also very good.

But oh, these girls.

Lizzie got glasses (which she subsequently lost). We tried on several pairs.

It as hella smokey. I may have stayed in my room and sat directly above my air filter, reading and slightly obsessed with the air quality numbers. This was a good day. It was really exciting.

Ashlie was working at the mall so we visited her and realized that David was as tall as or maybe taller than her.

Back for glasses again. The first pair.

Finally settled on the winning pair.

Ashlie also worked in Abbotsford and I paid lots of money to get her to make me a blonde.

Funny how light makes a big difference in how your hair looks.

We got mail from Ruben and Ada!

I realized that David is taller than me too.

And we tried to use up all my benefits before they were gone. New glasses for David too.

Winning pair.

I started my new job. No, I'm not a farmer. But I work next to one.

These are my new neighbors.

And Lizzie made this face. I don't know why.

birthday festivities

Elisabeth got a lot of gift cards for her birthday, so we took her to Tsawassen Mills (which is the best mall around for preteens). She and her friend Haylea got tired of following their moms around, so they took off. We found them at Laura.

Which when we first walked in, Annette was like, "why are they HERE?" but I said wait till you see the gowns.

And of course, that's where they were.

When I was her age, dressing up like this was all I thought about. A princess.

And then we went home and they drew on each other.
