The Worst Day Ever

So Andrew went home to visit his parents.

There was a reunion of his P2C comrades from university.

And his parents' anniversary.

So they went for 16 days.

I didn't want to fly. And I couldn't get time off for the reunion. So they went without me.

For 16 days.

SIXTEEN DAYS.

Everyone but Andrew (who was blissfully oblivious) had panic attacks about it.

Mine lasted for the entire time leading up to them leaving. And every day they were gone.

That's Elisabeth trying to smile through her tears.

Then we got kn the car and pretended we were happy about this trip. Andrew looks happy I guess.

They are never leaving me again.

Larry left us and went home to China

Here's a picture of my three kids on their first day of school 2018/19.

And now it was time to say goodbye to Larry.

Before he left, he had me colour his hair for him. This is something Larry had wanted me to do for a long time, but holy scary batman.  I'm not sure if it was the nostalgia, but Larry finally persuaded me to do it the day before he went home.

We went to Sally's and picked up the materials. A very sweet girl gave me great recommendations on what to buy and also how to do the bleaching.

With some trepidation on both our parts, we began the process. It went much better than I thought it would.

When it came time to put the toner in Larry's hair, there was a little left - so we toned Elisabeth's hair too.

In the meantime, Larry showed us this picture of him from his elementary school days.

On his last day with us, Larry finally packed his stuff - and gave a whole lot of it to us. Also. Look at how much they look like brothers now.

We finally got to go for hot pot. I wish we'd listened to Larry and gone sooner.

Even David enjoyed some of the hotpot.

And then, far too quickly, it was time to say goodbye. We cried.

I'm obsessed

I became obsessed with watching sunsets at the beach. I dragged my family down there almost every day for a while.

The skies are so dramatic near the water.

LOOK AT THIS. I mean. WOW.

Our God is sure talented.

Do you see why my obsession.

Somebody please make me a gate like this?

Thank you whoever owns this boat rental place for having such lovely colours on your canoes.

Another night, another sunset.

One day, I'm going to live on a house on a beach that faces west. All the sunsets please.
