Tink's first hair cut: An attempt to stop it from tangling and looking like she's homeless all the time...

Oh my gosh! What a busy weekend!! Saturday I volunteered at TWU grad. This was my third time doing it, the first being when I was pregnant with Davey. That year I marshalled (led the faculty in and out of the ceremony) and stayed for all three ceremonies. That year we stayed and loaded the truck after the ceremonies. How much easier it was this year!! For one thing, since I wasn’t pregnant, I had a LOT more energy!! And we had two AWESOME student workers who took care of all the lifting (and most everything else to be honest!) Still, since I left home at 6:40 am and didn’t get home till 10:30 pm it made for a loooooong day. And even though I got to talk to my babies twice, I missed ‘em like crazy! The only bad thing about it was that it was the most beautiful day in a long time and Andrew was stuck at home with no car and *I* didn’t get to go to the beach ;)

Sunday we headed out to Langley to work on a couple more projects. Dad and Andrew worked on clearing up more landscaping mess (a big pile of Landscaping ties that needed nails pulled from them and stacking somewhere out of the way) to get ready for the construction crews that will be arriving on the property in about six weeks.

Meanwhile I continued tidying up some of the flower beds, planting new spring flowers, and trying to get rid of all the weeds that tend to grow ALL OVER mum’s driveway. I’m really looking forward to the new driveway. This one has crazy deep grooves and cracks which are horrible to drive over, hazardous to running babies and fertile ground for weeds!!

[this is Davey's very first ever drawing of a face. I was just telling my mum last week that Davey doesn't even attempt to draw shapes - he just scribbles. Meanwhile, Elisabeth is very deliberate at trying to draw circles and colour in the lines...I guess Davey has been practicing in secret. This is a pretty awesome 'guy'.]

When we were done in Langley I felt like I needed to do some catch up work at home. So I pressure washed our deck while Andrew fed the kids. Tink wanted to come out and help me. She cleaned her water table (she must have been FREEZING in the water, but she would not come out!)

Then Andrew put together our new patio table and brought out the chairs.

Meanwhile I put pictures in frames and then made Andrew stay up till all hours hanging the pictures for me. Poor Andrew was so tired and sore last night he ended up sleeping in the basement. Cold hearted woman that I am, I yelled at him for tossing and turning cause it was keeping me awake.

On Friday our friends the Abelmans came for a visit. It's always fun to watch our kids play together, especially now that Seth is getting old enough to play with Davey. He loves having another boy to play with!

I forgot that Seth is going through a bit of a shy stage and grabbed him as soon as I opened the door...after that it took him a while to warm up to me again...but as you can see it did happen! What a little mug :)

My kids charmed Tash into reading them a story.

While Mayah accompanied the story with some 'guitar' music.

This afternoon I put Tink down for a nap like I (almost) always do. She seemed like she was going to go straight to sleep. She was practically comatose when I put her down and snuggled up under the covers.

So I went straight to work tidying/sorting out our office/closet little realising that the baby monitor was not on. Some time later I was in the kitchen when Davey brought her down from her nap. This picture does not do justice to the happy, beaming little creature that bounded down my stairs...

Yes. That's diaper cream. Which I was SURE was out of her reach...

And this is the sight that greeted me in her room...

Not only was there diaper cream on every surface in the room, she'd also opened her closets, emptied her dresser and apparently gotten back into bed (under her duvet the entire bed was covered in cream)...

oh dear....

A Little of this, A little of that...

Tink's hair, while still sparse, is starting to get long enough that it's in her eyes. So yesterday I tried pinning it back. Isn't she cute?

And so very pose-y. Knew we shouldda named her after a flower.

She doesn't like the flash so much.

While Tink had her nap, I took Davey to get a hair cut at a salon. His first non- mommy cut. Doesn't he look big?

And today we were at mum's in the yard again. Davey picked flowers for everyone.

Tinky played with them for a while too. Davey picked some dandelions and tried to give them to her, but she wasn't interested. He was so sad he cried!

And finally...HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD!!

I'm sorry, I thought Spring had arrived?!

Remember this? Once we left the sand and went to sit on the beach walk with our ice creams it was soooo hot. I really thought Spring was here. So what on earth is this???

So Sunday was Kat's birthday. Since everyone is eating different things these days, we decided just to do dessert. We had fresh strawberries, grapes and watermelon with angel food cake and fruit dip. Yummy! Tinker couldn't wait for everyone else to eat...here she is enjoying the spread by herself...

The birthday girl with her family.

Yo Yo
Ash was in a pose-y kind of mood that day.

I've been doing some spring cleaning. Davey has been enjoying the empty boxes. He loves hiding in them and he especially loves stuffing his sister in them.

Wearing mamma's bandana.

Some trees were cut down at mum's place. Here's tink sitting on a tree stump.
