Totally gagworthy, but so incredibly cute.

Davey's First Birthday Countdown

We got 'real pictures' of davey done today. But I won't have them till the 8th (of FEBRUARY). I'm so not used to waiting for pictures anymore. Talk about instant gratification...well this one will have to do for now...talk about sleeping like a baby... Posted by Hello

Just for Jane:

bet you didn't know you had this much power....

3 names I go by:
Andie
Angelgurl
Auntie Andrea

3 things I like about myself:
My freckles
My imagination
I’m naïve/idealistic

3 things I dislike about myself:
The fact that I let myself “go” so much when life got stressful
My imagination (when it stops me from doing things – like ice skating cause I’m scared my kneecaps will end up in my thighs…don’t ask!)
I’m naïve/idealistic (and therefore have a hard time when people “let me down”)

3 parts of my heritage:
On my dad’s side we’re from a tiny village in the swiss alps called Lenk. They still haul hay down the mountains in baskets on their backs.
On my mum’s side I’m from the south of England. In 1985 we moved to the Isle of Wight to be close to her family. It was an awesome place to grow up.
On both sides I have some French, a little Irish on my mum’s…

3 things that scare me:
Damaging my knee caps
The rapture happening and me missing it/having to be around when the Antichrist is here. I blame it on all those stupid “left behind” books and their predecessors.
Being seen by anyone who knew me 80 pounds ago.

3 everyday essentials:
Sleep
Shower
Sleep

3 things I’m wearing right now:
Socks (cause anyone who knows me KNOWS I NEVER WEAR FOOTWEAR. ANY. I’m trying to set a good example for my kid)
Ratty black tshirt
Ratty black jeans (all great for getting covered in spit up. My new “at home” uniform!!)

3 new things I want to try in the next 12 months:
Walk the Vancouver Sun Walk/Run
Hike Lightening Lake (again)
Learn to use an SLR camera

3 things I want in relationships:
Honesty
Fun
Intelligence

2 truths and one lie:
I’ve flown a plane
My [distant] cousin was mistress to a king
I speak
Russian

3 physical things that are appealing to me
Different eyes (like mum’s and my brother Dave’s…they both have gorgeous green eyes) Shoulders…broad in a man, straight in both men and women
Feet…maybe cause mine are so awful. I love beautiful feet

3 things I just can’t do:
Do anything that could jeopardize my kneecaps
Go on Fear Factor
Wear slippers

3 of my favorite hobbies:
Scrapboooking
Photography
Hiking

3 careers I’m considering:
A beach critic
A barista at Starbucks
A professional scrapbooker

3 places I want to go:
Back to the Isle of Wight
Back to Lenk
The East coast of North America

3 potential kids names:
Benjamin James
Emilie
Daniel Robert

3 things I want to do before I die:
Write a novel
Look after orphans
Go back to England

Caught in the act...

I thought that Davey had decided rolling over wasn't for him. After rolling over THREE times in one day, he hadn't done it since. But tonight on the change table he was frantically trying to roll over to get a better look at the baby on the Pampers Wipes box...so I put him on the floor, and HE DID IT AGAIN! Way to go Davey! The Big Chubb

Today is David's 3 month birthday. To celebrate, we took pictures of him screaming:

Now before all you mother types out there get mad at me for tormenting the poor kid, he was only mad for the time it took to snap two pictures, then his mummy took him back and he was fine. He just plum don't like dad. Can you blame him? Mums are sooooo much better :)

Check out davey's legs in those pants. It's way funnier/cuter in real life, but his chubby little legs fill those things right out. awwwwww davey's getting plump!!

anyhoo, we recently took our Christmas decorations off the fireplace mantle and put up framed pictures of our family. Davey LOVES looking at the pix. There's one of him and mummy, and one of him and daddy, and one of mummy and daddy...and "what's this?? ohhh this picture is very interesting. Mummydaddy why do you have a picture of this crying baby on the mantle? ohhhh poooooooor baby. Maybe if I stare at him all concerndedly he'll know someone cares and feel better." and so he does. what a sweet little bubby. Doesn't like anyone to be upset.

This is the picture (taken Dec. 08) that causes him so much concern:

(now that I've had a chance to compare the two pictures, aren't his cheeks getting chubby too. Wow, he IS growing up fast...)

And look how pleased Davey is to be getting so big. *sigh* He'll be on the school bus in no time. Posted by Hello

BIG FEET:

I happened upon these shoes by chance today. David has several pairs, but I thought there was no way they'd fit him for several months yet. Today, on a whim, I held his feet up to them and they fit (just like Cinderella *SIGH*) Posted by Hello

He must take after his mother. Posted by Hello

FINALLY...some Christmas pictures

It's been absolutely ages since we've posted any pictures (well, a long time for us anyway!) so here are some of the highlights of our Christmas.

I found these two elves trying to break into our Christmas presents. We let them stay cause they were so cute. (Christmas eve)

This picture is just for Chadya. I tell him every day that if his Auntie Chad could only see him, she'd be pinching those cheeks like crazy. (Elf costume provided by Scott and Chadya. Thank you very much).

The elf finally fell asleep. Posted by Hello

And this is one excited jadeybug...if you look closely, you'll see her bluesclues slippers...and the makeup she's nicked from big sis Ashlie. Posted by Hello

This picture wasn't taken over Christmas, but she's just too cute not to post. Now THESE are some cheeks you'd have to pinch Chadya!! Posted by Hello

David fixes the camera with his strong, silent type gaze... (Picture taken boxing day. After wearing 7 different baby's first Christmas/santa suits (they were just TOO cute!) David insisted on wearing something BLUE on boxing day). Posted by Hello

And immediately afterwards he and Daddy crack up...what jolly fellows... Posted by Hello
