Toilets:
Well, that picture of our toilet has sparked some responses, so I thought I'd address them in a blog posting. I'm procrastinating...and this is the best I can come up with!
When we first moved in here, and the Trouble With The Toilet began, I asked my brother in law and his dad, who are both plumbers, if they could diagnose our problem. Since we've been here, I've found out that almost every lower unit in the complex has the same problem as us:
Because Langley's building code doesn't say they can't, builders in this area have taken shortcuts with the plumbing in our (and perhaps other) townhouse units. Instead of having the plumbing lines separate and running out to the road, the whole schumuzzle is connected to one line, and that includes toilets, sinks, washing machines...I don't get the intricate details (you'll have to ask Andrew. It's enough for me to know the builders took shortcuts and therefore our plumbing stinks...I don't care about the hows)
We've asked three plumbers now and talked to people in our complex. Apparently the only thing that possibly could help us is if the upstairs people would all only use liquid detergent in their washing machines. And yes, they've been asked many times. If there are any plumbers out there who think they could help us though, I'd be SO happy. The worst, yuckiest floods always seem to come the day I clean our bathroom.
Other Things:
Anyone have any ideas where we could find a good, used playpen for a half decent price? Any of you Abbotsford readers know of any thrift stores that carry a decent selection of baby stuff? I was at a certain used toy/baby stuff store in Langley today and their prices are as much as new...thanks for any tips.

Super Baby
Davey is trying SO hard to stand and walk these days. He's not really excited about crawling - if we put him on the floor on his tummy he just puts his head down and cries. But if he's sitting on his bum playing, he'll scoot around in a circle to reach things he wants, or get right on to his tummy to get them and then back up again.
But his favorite thing to do these days is get to a standing position and then CLIMB. Look out! He's so strong too. Today he managed to get from on his tummy to standing beside me (I was lying on my back on the floor), then climb on top of me and was desperately trying to stand on me and climb on to a chair. But he uses his upper body a lot and just ended up pulling the chair over. Luckily Dad was there to make sure no one got hurt. I can tell we're going to have a lot of "fun" trying to keep him corralled once he's really in motion!!

And this is Davey giving Jane his patented "look". I think he's going for "strong, silent type", crossed with cute. I think it works....

Davey got to meet a puppy on Saturday. This is Davey with Lulu, Tommi and Cary's dog. Aren't they cute together?

KD vs SP: The votes have finally been tallied. While Jaspercat lovvvvvvvves KD, Davey clearly prefers sweet potatoes. Way to go kid, your gramma will be proud of you! (Oh, and he didn't like the cheesy my sister tried feeding him this afternoon either. Maybe this kid is going to take after his uncle rob!)

And this is Dave on Rob's bike. No, he's not a giant. It's just NOTHING in this world is built for tall people (one of my pet peeves...)
