I love Sunday Afternoons at the Beach

I love sunny Sundays. Love 'em even more when we can zip to the beach for the afternoon.

We raced home from church, threw some food together and headed to Crescent Beach for a picnic and play. It was beautiful there.

Cold. But beautiful.

My fambly got right to business, building their sandcastles. I tried to find a comfortable spot on the sand with my book.

You would think it would be easier to photograph my children as they get older.

But they just don't stop moving long enough.

Eventually the clouds started to roll in and the temperature dropped even more.

And so we packed up, and went home. Sure love these gifts of sunny November days though.

Hey Elisabeth. Go stand in front of that fence. I wanna take your picture.

Oh. No smile? Okay then.

Let's head to the playground and eat halloween cheesies.
*sigh* I really wish he'd quit licking his lips to smithereens.

A Nice Day for a Walk

We had a couple of gorgeous days last week. And, since the real BC weather could settle in at any time, we decided to make the most of the nice weather and go for a walk every day after school. Usually our path would take us to the end of the road where the "water road" is. It's a favorite.

This time Jade was with us:

We brought snacks and ate them at the bottom of the road.

Elisabeth finished first and decided to do a little bit of puddle jumping!

This girl takes after her mother :)

Then we floated leaves and sticks down the stream of water. And shouted into the pipe to hear our echos.

When we got tired of that, we headed to the playground.

Where the kids walked on a tightrope and jumped. Notice how Jade is standing on David's head?

Then Jade and I had a little photo session.

So then I took a few pictures of David.

Oh boy, I'm behind!

Some leftover pictures from Halloween. Here's Braylon, the little guy I babysit. He came to show us his adorable costume. Braylon is crazy about penguins and his sleepytimestuffy is a penguin. The only show on TV he ever pays any attention to is Pingu. And I swear he speaks more penguin than he does English!! Isn't he adorable?

My pumpkin creation this year. I perfected the arms this year and inserted a sad little pumpkin in my punkin's mouth. Underneath is Davey's pumpkin. He done good!

And two of my last trick or treaters of the year. They're cute too!

Tree Climbing

There are two little trees in front of my mum's house. They have lots of branches which make them perfect for my two little monkeys to climb.

As they've gotten braver, they've climbed higher and higher in the trees.

And also gotten stuck in the trees. Repeatedly. Much to the amusement of our neighbours who can't understand why, as soon as one of their parents have unstuck them, they climb straight back up again.

This Month is ALMOST over!

And today Lizzie got to dress up for school. Here she is doing her best superhero pose!

And clowning around with Teacher Leah (I'd like to point out here that Leah is almost as tall as me. And look how tall Elisabeth is on her!! Oy.)

Then we had to dress up for the Halloween Dance at David's school. Elisabeth and I went as cats.

Andy went as a pirate and David wore his shark costume.

More Pumpkin Patch

On Thursday Andrew took David on his field trip to Aldor Acres. Poor Andrew. It poured rain all day. Lucky for them it was a lot dryer (despite the rain!) there, and there was lots of cover. Here they are on the hay ride.

There they all are!

Have you seen the dancing pig? Here's David dancing to the dancing pig!

Then on Thursday night, the kids had their Harvest Party at church. David went as a Knight and Elisabeth went dressed as Little Red Riding Hood.
