Penticton Round Two: Day Four was also White Rock Round 1

Man, it was time to go home. Tragic.

In order to console ourselves, we grabbed the Goldstones and headed to Whiterock. It was a beautiful day.

That's noteworthy because it is a well known fact that EVERY SINGLE TIME we go to Penticton, we hit Aldergrove and it's pouring.

Those teeny, tiny blobs are Griffin and Elisabeth.

And on the left hand side of this picture, is Nate and David.

Can you still see Griff and Lizzie? The tide was out, but not out. But that means you can walk forever.

Andrew had braided my hair in the morning, so it was curly and I was feeling feisty. So was my boy :)

What a beautiful sun set. We had dinner on the beach.

And then my brother showed up.

He wanted gelato and I wanted coffee so we went in search of a place that served both. We got to enjoy this sunset while we hunted. This reminded me of Montreux.

You can tell we're related.

And then we watched the fourth of July fireworks. Welcome home.

Independence Day Shenanigans

We drove home from Penticton and made it to White Rock just in time for the sun set.

We went for a wander along the beach, down to the end of the pier.

Elisabeth and Griff wanted to bring this log with them.

We wandered to the end of the pier and watched the crabbers crabbing, and the boat and swimmer traffic.

After we'd hung out for a while, Kandace texted that she'd arrived. So we headed back to the other end of the beach where were were going to watch the fireworks display.

The kids played on the rocks. Tide was in, but as you'll see, the water was shallow.

Griff was the first to wander into the water.

But Lizzie couldn't resist the call of the sirens.

 There they are!

And finally the sun started to set so we started settling in.

The fireworks are always fun. Completely different experience than say, symphony of fire, but the whole bay is full of fireworks.

Penticton Round Two: Day 3

I didn't take any pictures at the beach on day three. But that's where we spent most of the day. Lying in the sunshine and reading books and swimming in the water.

And then we played mini golf.

As always, it was unbelievable hot. Maybe mini golf should be a fall activity.

We still managed to have fun. Wow, I'm saying that like it was hard to have fun. It wasn't. I love mini golf. I just remember that it was really hot and next time we should probably bring some water.

Dad had dropped us off, so while we waited for him to come back, we wandered across the bridge to see how bad the flood waters were.

It was pretty bad.

Look, it's almost overflowing over the top side.

And this is close to where the tubers jump in. OY.
