Toilets:
Well, that picture of our toilet has sparked some responses, so I thought I'd address them in a blog posting. I'm procrastinating...and this is the best I can come up with!

When we first moved in here, and the Trouble With The Toilet began, I asked my brother in law and his dad, who are both plumbers, if they could diagnose our problem. Since we've been here, I've found out that almost every lower unit in the complex has the same problem as us:

Because Langley's building code doesn't say they can't, builders in this area have taken shortcuts with the plumbing in our (and perhaps other) townhouse units. Instead of having the plumbing lines separate and running out to the road, the whole schumuzzle is connected to one line, and that includes toilets, sinks, washing machines...I don't get the intricate details (you'll have to ask Andrew. It's enough for me to know the builders took shortcuts and therefore our plumbing stinks...I don't care about the hows)

We've asked three plumbers now and talked to people in our complex. Apparently the only thing that possibly could help us is if the upstairs people would all only use liquid detergent in their washing machines. And yes, they've been asked many times. If there are any plumbers out there who think they could help us though, I'd be SO happy. The worst, yuckiest floods always seem to come the day I clean our bathroom.

Other Things:
Anyone have any ideas where we could find a good, used playpen for a half decent price? Any of you Abbotsford readers know of any thrift stores that carry a decent selection of baby stuff? I was at a certain used toy/baby stuff store in Langley today and their prices are as much as new...thanks for any tips.

Abbotsford Kid's Consignment Stores:
Noah's World (Christian owned & operated): 604-853-9899
Carol's Kids: 604-852-8816
Carol's always seems to have playpens.
Also, the Abb. paper in the buckpasser often has playpens.
Hope you find one.

ANDIE -- Don't buy a playpen!!! I have a Graco fold-up play yard that I will bring home from Victoria next weekend (Father's Day) and you can HAVE it. It's been used like four times (left it at the grandparents house) and then I bought another one for Kendon. So now I have two. OKAY? Yay! And by the way -- Davey is bloody cute. Damned bloody cute. I love your blog. I wish I had time to comment on every single picture because they always make me smiiiiile. LOTS-O-LOVE...jenn & kendie-q
