Everywhere we go, people comment on how little Davey is. I'm not sure quite what it is about him that makes people think he's so small. The other day when I went for a walk with Tristan and his parents, I was thinking Davey was smaller than Tristan (who's two weeks younger), but then when they stood up next to each other, Davey's at least an inch taller. And there's a kid at church who looks like such a huge bruiser next to Davey (also 2 weeks younger)...but they're pretty much the same size. And he IS in size 18 month clothes already. Maybe it's his face?? I dunno. Anyway, now when people ask me if he's four or five months old, I just pretend he's really little for his age. Whatever... Posted by Picasa

It's because he has no hair yet! Joshua took forever to get much hair worth mentioning too... it's still sparse, but it makes a big difference how old they look! -de

Wait a minute... that would work in the opposite way... people would think he's so big for being so young. There goes that theory. Maybe he looks small because his head looks little? -de

Whoever says that is dumb.

Tell 'em Jenn said so.

Brennan was bald until he was almost 2 (so was I) and people made comments on his huge head. It's always something.

Davey is GORGEOUS and I think he is outweighing Kendon now, who is three months older...what does he weigh in at?

Did you know that it's okay to end sentences with prepositions now? They told us that at our copy editing & proofreading fiesta.

What does your sched look like for September???? Smooch that GIANT baby for me, would you? And don't listen to people. You should've heard the comments this morning when Yaunna was absolutely the SHORTEST person in the 6th grade. Whatever. She's also one of the cutest.

There's a reason she's short, but some people just don't get it. Davey ain't tiny. He's perfect.

(Check out http://www.turner-syndrome-us.org/ for more info on Yaunna's midgetry.) Talk soon??

I don't think it's an offensive comment to say one's child seems big or little. Probably just a matter of perspective. Like with pregnancy, one person will say you're *huge*, and the next (a few minutes later), that you're not big enough. Water off a duck's back. -de

I guess I should clarify. I don't really mind that people comment so frequently on Davey being so small. It's better than them freaking out that he's ugly or poorly behaved.

It's just weird for EVERYONE to think he's so small when he's consistently been wearing clothes that prove he's not (well, I know he's not super tall for his age, like Jadey, but he's not a midget either).

Anyway, we thinks he's adorable and the most perfectly behaved baby ever, so we're content.
