Apple Blossoms

This is my favorite apple blossom tree. It's a weeping crab apple. My pictures don't do it justice, but the blossoms are the most gorgeous shades of pink.

And the leaves on the tree are also tinged with pink and red - a bit like a green apple that has reds in the skin too.

I always make sure to catch this tree while it's in bloom, it's so beautiful.

This year Elisabeth came along with her camera too.

And this tree was gorgeous too.

Strolling on Cultus Lake

After my long absence from work, this was my last opportunity to skive off somewhere. The day was hot and gorgeous. I skidaddled off to Cultus Lake.

My very favourite blossoms

This tree is just down the road from us. It's my very favourite in the entire world. I always make sure I get to see it when it's in bloom.

It's a weeping crab apple tree.

Elisabeth was home sick from school so I dragged her to see it with me!

And this one on the way home.

Bridal Falls

Two very different dates...

I took Elisabeth to get her eyebrows done. She's got very light eyebrows (we all seem to in this family) and is self concious about it (no idea where that's from). But our shoppers has a deal where if you spend $35 you can get a free shape and tint. So we both got one. She was overjoyed and it wasn't as painful as she thought it might be!

On Mondays, David and I walked while Elisabeth danced. If it was too hot or too wet, we'd walk in the mall. And sometimes that meant detours.

My soul man ha ha ha.

Minter Gardens Country Garden Store - almost like a trip to the old gardens...

A while back I won $100 to spend at a craft market in Chilliwack. You can't just say no to $100 so we headed out there to pick it up. They made a fatal error. They gave it to me in cash. Well we're broker than broke and I'm cheap. If it had been a coupon to a vendor, I would have spent it. But instead we took the money and run.

But since we'd driven all the way out to Chilliwack, we decided to visit our favourite nursery.

We found the old turtle. When we used to visit Minter Gardens, we always used to take a picture of the kids on the turtle.  So of course I had to take an updated picture.

Then we found these guys. I warned David that they could be kind of mean and hissy. So of course he had to push his luck trying to tempt them.

At Christmas time they have a train that runs here. The kids relived that too.

Look at all the lovely cottages. There was a sign warning us not to go past here due to a bear in the area. So I took my pictures and ran.

Then we found a suspension bridge.
