We took the ferry over to the Sunshine Coast on Monday. It was a rare sunny day. Here Davey watches the waves. 

Will Walk for French Fries

After putting it off for two weeks, I finally went grocery shopping last night. I'd just thrown my last item in the buggy when the lights in the grocery store went out. I waited 20 minutes, but it didin't look like they were going to get the power back on. So I headed to McDonalds for a nutritious and yummy dinner.

I already knew Davey likes fries. He's only had them about three times, but once he sees fries he won't eat anything else. So when Andrew handed Davey a couple of fries then walked back to the dining room table, I jokingly said, "heh, watch. He'll walk over to you now to get some more."

AND HE DID!!!

Our kid is not walking yet. I mean, he knows how. It's just like with everything. He can do it, doesn't really see the point, so doesn't try again...

But since he was standing when Andrew handed him the fries he took 8 steps over to Andrew and held out his hands for more fries. What a rat!!!

And we're back...

Our best friends in the whole world decided that I needed to have Internet. And so they're paying for me to stay connected to the "real world". We're so incredibly grateful. I have been going crazy the last little while while...it really is my outlet.

Anyway, here are a few of the pictures we've taken in the last little while. I haven't been as snap happy lately as I could have been. Partly because of not having Internet, and partly because we've been so busy with ripping out our old flooring and then returning our house to normal. But expect my blogging to quickly gain speed now that we're back online.

What we've been up to the past month or so... 

Nailing the baseboards back on in Davey's bedroom. Thank goodness we have such a helpful boy, this would have been a huge job without him to sand the freshly painted walls, knock holes in the bedroom walls, and sweep the new laminate with the sander... 

Davey helps dad put our living room back together. 

October 18. Davey plays with the front mat while we wait for dad to get home from work...you know, back when it was still light that time of day... 

How Sad...

Okay, maybe sad isn't the right word. But my blog has finally passed 10,000 hits, and I wasn't around to see it. I can't WAIT to get Internet again!!

Andrew is on a whirlwind tour of the US of A this week. Yesterday he hit LA and Colorado Springs. Tonight he flies to Texas. Then on Thursday morning he makes a brief stop in Miami before heading to North Carolina. And on Friday he'll get to make a quick pit stop in Las Vegas (I made him promise to get his picture taken with Elvis) before pulling in to Vancouver at approximately 3am on Saturday morning. Loving wife that I am, I told him to find his own ride home. Sleep is a precious commodity, and you'd better not wake me when you get home...but I'll make you a nice breakfast once I'm up :)

Oh - and we haven't been taking many pictures lately because we've been crazy busy the last few weeks getting stuff done to our house. Tomorrow the last of the carpet gets laid. Then we just need two walls to have the baseboards replaced and hopefully life will be back to normal. I have pictures...especially some cute ones of Davey nailing baseboards in his bedroom. But Andrew has the camera so you'll have to wait to see them.
