Today we hung out at Seth's house. His mom and sister had to go to Vancouver so he decided to have a little party in their absence. Fun times!
Davey...awed by all the good stuff at the party (Andy...he LOVES the shirt!)Our host. He pretended to his mamma that he was devestated by her leaving. But as you can see he got over that pretty quick.
Tink, playing guitar and singin'.
Davey on the sax.
After everyone had been fed, napped and changed, we headed outside.
Almost big enough to pedal a bike.
Davey was very animal friendly today. He's normally pretty timid/terrified around animals. Today he was right up there in the chickens' faces. Begging to go in the barn with the goats. And even stroking Blackie the cat.
Davey gives the 1 year olds a push.
Seth and Elisabeth are four and a bit months apart. They're very cute together...
Ellie's favorite place is with the chickens.
Here's Blackie. A little bit more menacing looking than our cats...but s/he (?) was very friendly.
The kids loved the swing. Specially the two 1 year olds. Check out Seth's hair. I'm so jealous!
just before this Davey had been sitting down stroking and hugging Blackie. didn't quite get the camera on in time.
Isn't this a gorgeous yard? I could have stayed all day.
Hiding under the lilacs.

Friday at the Parks with Poppa
Breakfast of champions: Fruit smoothie with Soy Milk. YUM!We spent the morning at our favorite toddler park downtown. Davey was brave enough to try the sea monster this time...well with out protests I mean ;)
In the pirate ship!
I wonder why she holds her hands like this in the swing??
Now this I understand !!
Then we headed to Cultus to play at a different park and eat some snacks.
You may think Tink is crying cause she doesn't want to sit on grosspapa...well true. But she doesn't want to sit on poppa cause she wants to be IN THE WATER!
Crazy kid ;oP

Minter Gardens with Poppa
So Thursday, dad's first full day in the 'wack, we tripped on out to Minter Gardens. I thought there might be some tulips still in bloom but wasn't expecting much more than that...it was soooo pretty! And I brought home some of these little gems and a carnation plant for my own little flower bed. Nice! The new kids' part of the garden was open. It's pretty cool. Right in the centre is this phantasmagorical tree...and around it were an assortment of tunnels and logs and even a little outhouse. The kids loved it of course!
Me 'n my girl. This was the only way to get her to stop running...and even then she didn't stay still for long. She 'likes to move it, move it!!"
Me and the boy!
Throwing rocks into a little creek. Oh yah, davey was freeeeeeeezing so I let him wear my sweater. EVERYONE we saw commented on his 'nice coat'. I thought he looked like a little monk myself...
Dad taught Tink to whop him in the face. I'm hopeful she'll forget that little trick since she packs quite the punch. Maybe it can be a little thing between her and poppa or something??
Here she is whopping him again. While Davey snoozes with his eyes open...
Another little house (I need some of these whimsical houses in my backyard.)
See? He looks like a little monk.
Or a hobbit...

I've switched the email address I'm posting to this blog from and it's changed the formatting. So I'm just going to give a brief explanation of these pictures...The outside ones are from the other day when we visited grandma's house. Jadey was with us too, but apparently I didn't get a good picture of her playing with us.
Later in the week Davey baked a cake for Grosspapa. Yes, Davey baked it. He dumped the mix out (I cracked the eggs), he stirred the batter, poured it into cake pans (I put them in the oven), he iced the cake with minimal help from mama and he and Tink decorated it. I'm SUPER impressed. But more importantly, so was grosspapa. And we had a belated party for grosspapa's birthday. Good times.

Signs of the times
We've just had a whirlwind visit with my dad. After three days of busyness, he's headed home to Fraser Lake. Meanwhile, we've dropped the kids off at Kathi and Cody's while I've brought Andrew to Richmond. Tomorrow morning at 4 I'll bring him to the airport then head to my sister's to pick up the kids. Andrew is heading to Richardson, Texas.
I have 416 pictures from my camera and about 150 from my dad's which illustrate the past three days. But I probably won't get a chance to update until tomorrow evening. In the meantime make do with this story...
On Thursday we went to Minter Gardens. As we were walking through the parking lot we passed a phone booth. "Oh my goodness!" I said, "It's been ages since I've seen one of these. I didn't know they had them around anymore!"
At the same time, Davey stopped in his tracks and backed up until he was even with the phone booth. "WHAT is that?!" he asked
Of course we all burst out laughing at just how well the question illustrated my point. Meanwhile dad explained to Davey that a phone booth is kind of like an old fashioned cell phone...sort of...
