We were hoping to get family pictures done today, but finally decided it was a bit too soggy out. So when we decided to head to Fort Langley for a bonfire, I thought I'd try and snap a few pictures of us and the kids. Who knew it would be so hard to get a decent picture with everyone eyes open, looking at the camera? Also, while I was expecting a bit more snow in Fort Langley, I didn't realise it would be full out deep snow still! Runners were definitely the wrong choice today!
Hmn, hot chocolate not to your liking, Elisabeth?
Dang, she's cute!
I tried for a good one of me and the kids.
Hmn, well this one isn't too bad!
Then I made the kids pose some more before I would light the fire.
Finally we did get started. Elisabeth read the Future Shop flyer and picked out cameras she wants to get (and she's going to buy me a pink one!)
See the steam coming off my shoes? EEP!
Roasting popcorn.
Elisabeth, very proud of her perfectly roasted marshmallows. Well done!
And David, super duper proud of his Christmas tshirt!
And finally, the threat: "NO MORE PICTURES! Or else...."
But then we decided to pick up our Christmas tree so I had to take more pictures!
We found the perfect little tree. Just $14.99!!
So Andrew cut it down!
Just kidding. We found a real tree.
And I held the tree while Andrew sawed.
And eventually we got it down.
Ta da!
And when we got home, we decided we might as well pull out the artificial tree too:
Then the real tree:

SNOW DAY!
It snowed again on Thursday. YAY! I quickly put my kids to work clearing the driveway!Elisabeth got right down to business. Eating snow is her favorite pastime.
So Ben decided to try some too.
Braylon was up from his nap, so he came out to play too.
But quickly decided he was not a fan of the snow!
After Braylon went home, we went sledding. As you can tell, Ben LOVED it!
Even after he crashed into the playhouse!
Elisabeth sat in the playhouse and ate lunch.
Even I got on a sled.
I couldn't steer to save my life, so Andrew gave me a lesson.
Oh yeah, much better!
Then we walked to school.
And exchanged this imp
For this one.
And got right back to sledding.

November randoms
Story time. Nothing like a snuggle and a story with Daddy :)It snowed last weekend. And because it was the first snow of the season our kids were ecstatic!
You can tell there wasn't all that much on the ground, but it was more than enough to play in for a morning.
Trying out the sleds our friend Lorrie gave us last winter (and which we never got to use because we didn't get any snow!)
We headed to the hill behind our house. We did a few runs down the hill, but it was a bit scary for us. Specially as it ends in a pond and the pond was definitely not frozen. Yipes!
And when we came in, Grosspapa was ready in the santa suit for a little early Christmas.

Remembrance Day
We have always intended to make attending the Remembrance Day Ceremonies a tradition for our family. However, this was our first year going out to the local cenotaph.Unfortunately, Langley City was ill prepared for the crowds of people who came out. Once the parade had gone by, the street in front of the cenotaph was packed. We were across the road from the stage and we couldn't hear a word. We also couldn't see a thing. We still stayed for almsot the full ceremony, but our kids couldn't understand why!
Afterwards, we headed to South Surrey. There's a GAP outlet store there and I wanted to get Andrew some new jeans.Unfortunately, the sales were too good! 30% off everything in the store, plus it was GAP's Give and Get promotion so we got an additional 30% off!!

David (stomping down the stairs after an argument with his sister): I really wasn't wishing for a sister when I came to life. I was wishing for a brother. And now I'm wishing for nobody!!
Elisabeth: If I hit someone in the head with a walking stick, what will happen?
David (looking at me sitting in the arm chair): NOBODY sits in the King's chair!
Elisabeth: Well, what if I hit Grandma in the head with a walking stick. What will happen then?

Doesn't he look like a little English squire? Love the boots with the flat cap!Ben came over and we all went to the playground. It's how we roll.
Our new favorite thing to do is have races down the slide.
Then after school we went for a walk. We got to the end of our road and a HUGE hailstorm rolled in. Then a torrential rain pour. Then it was fine and we finished our walk.
And enjoyed the waning fall colours.
