Tonight we headed over to the Abelmans to have a bonfire and wienie roast. This is me with Seth.

Yesterday we headed out to Langley to visit Grandma, bring Dave my dad's truck (his car was stolen on Tuesday night) and mow the lawn. Since we had all four kids in one place, I decided to try and get a picture of them. Easier said than done!!
After the girls left, we locked my kids up in a cage. Davey loved it, Tink tried to chew her way out.
Our living room. Still not finished either, but here's the work in progress. I'd like some drapes for the window and I'm sure we could cull some more books. We're both just so fond of them all...

Davey reads his Bible to Tinky.
Andrew has had these little Bibles as long as I've known him. When Ashlie used to come over when she was about Davey's age, she would only ever play with the little Bibles. I guess it's because they're the perfect size for little hands, all of the kids love pretending to read them. Davey sat in this chair for a long time making up stories.
Tink sat in the rocking chair and listened.
Then he moved to his pulpit and preached from his "Nighttime Bible Story Book".
Sorry, no pictures of our day today, but it was such a fun day, I thought I'd better share it on here.
This morning we met at Natasha, Mayah and Seth's house. While Seth finished napping, Davey ransacked the toy room, Tink destroyed the living room and Tash, Mayah and I visited on the couch.
Once Seth was up we headed to the river and walked along the Rotary Trail to a little beach Tash knows of. It was perfect for the kids. Secluded, shallow almost still water, and lots of rocks for throwing! While Mayah and Davey threw rocks in the water, Tink and Seth fed them to each other (I wish one of us had brought our camera!) Then the kids ate fresh blackberries straight from the bushes.
I've been spending the past two days housetraining Davey. He's doing really well, I'm so proud of him. And today he managed to wait to go while we were on our walk (Running home just about!!) So hopefully we can get this done in time for him to start school next month.
I should also mention that today was the day that Tink mastered standing without leaning on something. As far as I know, she's never tried it before, though she can go from standing to crouching to standing again so I knew she could do it. Yaaaay tinky!
Sometimes I feel like we're not making any progress on putting this house together. I had a great burst of energy that first week when Andrew was off work and watching the kids. Got quite a bit unpacked and set up. And then nothing...
Well, this weekend we made a trip out to Ikea. Ostensibly to return some baby gates we'd bought which were entirely unsuitable. My ulterior motive was to pick up two more frames for our upstairs hallway. Anyway, I came home motivated...to make Andrew hang things.

Davey got this baby tad for Christmas a couple of years ago. Though he liked it, it seems his little sister likes the toy more.
In the past few days she's been figuring out how to make it sing and talk to her. Yesterday Andrew and I were talking about how Tink's bedtime routine is so drastically different from Daveys. One thing that's missing is music. So last night Andrew decided to put Tink to bed with Tad. And he pressed the night time button on his hand and left her in her crib with soft nighttime music playing.
Well, last night was when she figure out how to press the buttons when prompted by Tad. So an hour after we put her to bed, Tink and Tad were still singing and laughing and talking together. I went upstairs and settled her back down, then put Tad on a chair near her crib playing some soft night time music.
From downstairs we could hear a few noises, but she settled down pretty quick this time. When I went in to check on her, I found poor little tinky had pulled all her covers off the end of her crib and fallen asleep with arms reached out towards tad and legs stretched through the opposite bars of the crib.
I found out this week that some of the locals call Sardis Park "Duck Poo Park". I thought they were exaggerating. Till today. Look at all those geese...
That was only a fraction of them. Luckily the wood chipped play ground seemed pretty safe.
Tinky loves rocking bouncing toys. She's a little dangerous because she has NO fear and rocks them almost right over.

My boy loves his tunnels. Hah. Which reminds me that he and his friend yesterday were playing tunnels and driving cars right under each other (picture them standing with legs apart then crawling/pushing the cars through each others' legs as tunnels.) They're so close in height they were almost knocking each other over! Priceless.
