Sunshine Coast

Me and the kids made a quick trip to the coast for Spring Break. It was a beautiful day to travel, and the first time we'd been to Horseshoe Bay since a windstorm smashed up the the marina.

We had bit of time before our ferry sailed, and so we went to the village for a look around.

We climbed some trees...

Then it was time to sail.

We arrived and I got snuggles!

 David really loves baby snuggles.

Okay wow. We did a lot of hanging out and a lot of eating.

One of the days we went for a walk to the ocean. Sol loves riding in his stroller.

 Blossoms. I love them.

Sol was so cute. He wanted to put his feet in the ocean. But he also wanted to not have his feet in the water. So he stood on my feet and dipped his toes in.

Then I dumped him on the rocks to play.

The big kids played on the big rocks.

The little tidal pools were full of critters and they spent soo long finding snails and watching the barnacles eat.

Did you know barnacles have tongues? So as the water would wash over them, they'd open their mouths (or the top of their heads?) and a tongue would stick out and I guess catch particles. So crazy to watch it.

 Sol was enjoying every second.

The big boys sat together and enjoyed a snack.

And Ada tried to persuade me that her dad always wanted some snails at home.

We left them at the beach though.

Finally we made our way home, where Sol was enjoying a nap.

So we headed to Wendy's for lunch.

And then to Robert's Creek to see the Mandela we helped paint last summer.

And then to the beach where we went crabbing. Dave turned over rocks on the beach and we watched the crabs scurry away.

Finally we went home to hang out in the front yard.

And then it was pretty much time to leave. We made a trip into Gibsons for ice cream.

Where we had ice cream. Ada wanted to try everyone's flavours.

And Solomon didn't want to try the ice cream at first. It was cold! But Ada won him over.
