Today we went for a visit at Grandma's. It was the first time we've seen Jadey since Christmas. As soon as Davey saw her he gave her the hugest hug, "I miss you!" he said. I had to run and get my camera and make them reenact the hug. "I love you," he says this time. Awwwwww...Later we headed to the park. Tinker made a bee-line for the swing.
Since this picture is self-explanatory, I thought I'd point you to my sister's blog. Jadey just got her hair cut. She's definitely not a baby anymore!
We definitely don't go to the park as often as I used to with Davey. There just aren't any within walking distance of our house (yet, they're building one near us...promised completion date being September 2007, yes SEVEN, so I hope it's done for this spring). So I was amazed at how she was all over EVERYTHING in the playground. She can climb like a monkey!
Which when I told Andrew, he wondered how long she'd be staying in her crib (unlike Davey who would STILL stay in his crib if we put him in it). Hmn, good point. It'll be time for a toddler bed in no time...
The other thing Tink has been doing lately (other than climbing on everything around) is talking up a storm. It's like the light suddenly went on and now we can't stop the floodgates (way to mix my metaphors, eh?)
Davey is doing well. I think he's getting a bit frustrated with his parents for being sick. I can relate to that!
...These two are such great friends. It's good to see them playing together.
Wearing my new gloves. His hands were cold and his mittens were buried under the stroller and shopping in our trunk. He seemed to like having giant hands.
Tink's new favorite pastime is colouring. She's really good at it.
Davey got this playdoh set for Christmas from his Uncle Paul, Aunt Terri and cousins Aydan and Bean. Him and Dad played with it for about an hour tonight. TOO much fun!

Crescent Beach
Any time the rain isn't falling, I wanna be at the beach. Actually, I wanted to be at Derby Reach yesterday - with a fire and marshmallows but I got outvoted. Sure can't wait till Tink's vote can be bought and sold...
Davey didn't like the wind at the beach.Of course the munchkin didn't mind one bit. So long as she's near the water...
So I had a brainwave to build a little shelter for me and Davey. Here's my hunky husband carting driftwood down the beach for us.
The shelter takes shape.
Much happier now that he can hide from the wind.
Me too!
Peekaboo!
Tink wasn't content to play in the shelter for long. She made a break for the ocean.
And even the huge logs weren't enough to block her in...
But eventually I made her come back.
A little campfire to warm our fingers.

Singin'
Libby loves to sing. She's (we think) amazingly good at mimicking tunes. Over Christmas she learned Jingle Bells. Only it sounds more like, "wa wa wa wa wa wa HEY!" She can do the alphabet but for now she repeats whichever letter sounds come to mind (usually a-g) to the tune.
Most recently though, she's learned the Bob the Builder theme song. I can't even begin to approximate the way she pronounces things, but let's just say you can, for the first time she is saying the right words. And she even knows the 'da da da da' at the end. Awesome.

She figured out how to take a picture of herself. Completely unaided. She IS my child!
Davey was feeling a bit vulnerable today. Mummy was very busy folding laundry (yes I broke down and did it without TV to watch!) so he barricaded himself into the couch to watch TV.I think perhaps he was feeling a bit more emotional because he WOKE UP AT 2:30 AM last night. And was up for the day from that point on. YIKES.
Most of the time he was sprightly enough despite the short night.Elisabeth has the head lamp from Davey's tool set. They both think it's a camera and take MILLIONS of pictures of everyone and everything with it.
I was noticing today that Davey feels like he's all angles. Like, you don't want him climbing on you...too many sharp bones! So I weighed him. Sure enough, he's grown but he still weighs 36 pounds. I weighed Elisabeth today too. She's up to 27. And over Christmas she decided to grow her feet by a whole size. MAN these kids are like dandelions!

I can't remember if I blogged about it, but me and the kids all had sinus/ear infections over Christmas. Andrew managed to survive the whole of that period only to come down with a nasty cold on New Year's Day. Needless to say, he's in bed today. And judging by Tinkleberry's nose today...he's sharing the love. Nice.
On another note, is the Writer's Strike ever going to be over? I have a HUGE pile of laundry waiting to be folded and I can't stop folding to TV now, too many years of doing it that way! I may just breakdown and go rent some TV to do it too...cause all those socks I got for Christmas? Yah, I think I'm on my last pair.
In the 'wack you can put your tree out with the garbage and they'll take it and shred it for you. So last night Andrew and I dismantled both the trees and threw them off the balcony. Today I vacuumed up the needles (yah, I'm remembering why I don't like live trees and carpet...) Even though I swept the worst of it up first our garage is still pine scented. MNNNNN. I might be finding excuses to hang out down there today...

The last day of Christmas holidays dawned bright and clearish. So we decided we'd better take advantage of the weather...and head to Cultus Lake!
Davey and I brought our fishing nets and headed straight for the water.Unfortunately all the fish saw us coming and vamoodled. Still, we had great fun dipping our nets in the water.
Daddy and Tink headed for the swings instead. After kicking off her shoes, Tink got down to business (actually, she was wearing an old pair of Davey's boots here. Thank goodness we still had them. Her feet grew over Christmas and these were the only shoes we could get on her feet. Never mind they were two sizes too big and kept falling off her feet every time she got a little bit off the ground. Oh well, that just gave me an excuse to head to Langley today and do some shopping!!)
Racing Mum down the slide. LOVE this playground, we always have fun! While me and the boy wandered round all the docky/piery things, Tink decided to try fishing. She got right in (once again, thank goodness for the boots!) And actually ended up kneeling in the water. Yup, this one's a water baby! I'm looking forward to summer with her :)
My goodness was it cold near the water! The snow level is pretty low though (last time I checked the weather network they were calling for snow showers tonight...maybe that's why?!)Once we got home, Davey rediscovered last year's Christmas present in his playroom. Silly goof!
And Tink thinks this train table is for sitting on. Seriously, where does this kid get her manners?!

Crescent Beach
There are only two major things I don't like about living on the east end of the Fraser Valley: We're too far away from mum and we're too far from the ocean.
The sun was shining today so we headed west to visit both. After hearing the wind last night I knew I HAD to see the ocean.

Have you ever noticed how scary some Christmas movies are?
Andrew rented Scrooged over. Christmas. I'm not a big fan of most movies from that time period, but I thought I'd try to keep an open mind. I spent most of the movie with a cushion over my face...creeeeepy!
I don't like the Grinch movie either, but Andrew does and Davey is a big fan of Dr Seuss so I thought he might like it. Not two seconds into he says "I'm scared." So we watched The Simpsons instead.
Apparently since then he keeps telling Andrew, "I can't stop thinking about the Grinch!"
