Backwards

I spent ages reorganizing these pictures to get them in chrono order, only to lose the data. So here is a glimpse of what we did this past week - in reverse order!

Thursday after preschool (and naps) we headed to Cresent Beach. The weather has been PERFECT (in my opinion) this past week. Warm and sunny, but breezy so you're not gasping for air. Perfect sunburn weather, but we've been well protected.

This is Davey trying to make foot prints in the sand.

And taking a break from it all. Ahhhh last day of school is over; it's time to relax!

And do some exercises on the beach.

Meanwhile, Elisabeth was busy digging roads and building things.

Davey made a sandcastle all by himself. Even got the water from the beach!

Ta da!

While Elisabeth built castles and drowned them,

Davey made a monster. Then an entire family of them. Here's a sample.

Then he told me that he'd made some kids and a daddy and a grandma and a grandp and a mummy.

"See how the kids are all smiling mummy? See their big mouths and smiles? And here's daddy and he's smiling too. And this is grandma and grandpa and they're smiling too. But this is the mummy monster. She's not smiling. She's mad. She's mad because she doesn't want her kids anymore."

I'm not quite sure what to make of that story. After all, I'm the one who took them to the beach and was building huge piles of mud with them. And hadn't once gotten mad at them. In fact, I even took them for ice cream. Hmnn!

This is Dave with his ice cream. And I picnicked this picture to make it look more like it was taken in the 80s. Mostly because I think Dave looks exactly like my brother Rob here.

This is Wednesday. We went to Crescent Beach on Wednesday too.

Elisabeth spent ages rubbing sparkles on her legs. See?

She rubbed them on mine too.

Here she is sunning herself.

And later, sleeping on our deckchairs at home.

And this might be Tuesday. Playing in the backyard:

Even Ashlie came over to play!

See how graceful and ladylike these two young girls are?

...and not so much. *sigh*

Beautiful Ashlie.
Sweet Daveyboy.
