And summer begins

We brought Tommy to the airport. In honour of Canada 150, the two Ryans were also there.

Oh, and a moose.
We had to pose for the usual pictures.

And, because Tommy had told me to drop him off at the airport at 2, and I didn't realize he wasn't actually flying out till after midnight, we wandered around looking for a place for him to comfortably wait.

We decided this spot, where he could watch planes.

And then, because I was going to cry if we stayed any longer, we left our boy all alone at the airport.

Then we loaded the car and headed for Penticton.

I love this drive so much.

I'm doing pretty good, we only stopped three times, and not for very long. But just enough time to selfie. Seriously, remember when it used to take me six hours to get to Penticton? Now I can do it in four. That's progress people.

Of course, when there are two cameras it's really hard to know where to look.

Then we barely made it in time for bed.

Walnut Grove Waterpark!

This summer was HOT. So we introduced Alexis, Ruben and Ada to our favorite waterpark in Walnut Grove. One of my favorite things about this park is that it's fully enclosed!

Ruben and Ada seemed to love it too.

After a bunch of time splashing in the water, we found some shade and enjoyed some snacks.

And then we came home and played in the pool!!

Aloha Birthday Party

Camera pictures of Elisabeth's Aloha party at Hi Knoll Golf Course. We did the mini golf course, obvs.

And our theme was aloha because Elisabeth wanted bright colours and flowers, but couldn't decide what to call the party.

Jade was all dressed up for Rachel's graduation.

It was a scorcher of a day, but the course has beautiful flowers and a little bit of shade here and there.

There was a lot of silliness. Especially after Elisabeth broke her lei and everyone decided to crown her with theirs.

We headed back to our house for food and presents and cupcake decorating.

Which David joined in on. And then it was time for games on the trampoline.

Happy birthday Elisabeth!

Kids with summer birthdays always seem to get short changed when it comes to birthdays. At least, that's how it seems. But I finally got myself together enough to throw Lizzie a birthday party. We decided to go with kind of an aloha theme.

First up, mini golf.

The mini golf near our house has the most beautiful flowers.

Then we came home for pizza and presents.

The whole party was really just an excuse to decorate cupcakes. One of Elisabeth's friends decorates cakes for a side business with her sister. Yah. She's ten. She should have been teaching us.

But David was totally in to the decorating. And he's pretty talented too.

Then the boys came home and we had cake.
