Good Friday

Friday in the Lower Mainland was beautiful. Sunny, really, really warm. Perfect for a trip to the zoo!

Of course, it wouldn't be like me to go prepared, so the kids had toques, but no sun hats. Here they are in their GVZOO hats:

Elisabeth loved all the fenced animal areas. Great for practicing her standing at. She's hilarious, I don't think she's scared of much. Loved all the animals. Even when they got really close.

Here's Davey: He's been acting a little strange lately. Very clingy. Somewhat prone to have weeping fits. Refusing to walk or be put down. Only wanting mamma. I can't tell that he's actually sick, though one of his glands is swollen off and on. He does seem as though he's getting some molars, I can feel them poking through. But he doesn't complain that they hurt, he's just extra tired and extra cuddly in a cranky sort of way. Poor chappy. I hope that if it is teething, they hurry up and come in!

Peccaries, having a lazy lie in.

Tinky thought the peccaries were funny.

When we lived in England, I was in the Bishop Lovett Choir. We sang a song about Capybaras...I never knew they looked like this. How would a jaguar manage one? They're awfully big....

I was so excited when we got to the hippo enclosure. Hazina was out and wandering around. This is what Tinky did when she saw the HUGE hippo (actually not so huge compared with the other two they used to have at the zoo...but big enough to a tinkerbell)...

Davey at about the end. We managed the train and then we had to leave so he could sleep.

Tinky enjoying her ride around the zoo in the stroller while mummy caught the train.

Because Davey was so tired, we decided he and I would wait near the train for our scheduled ride, while Andrew and Elisabeth wandered around some more. We ended up being in the line for the train before ours so we asked if there was room for us to ride as well. Sure enough there was. Only Davey and I walked up and down and there were no empty seats. So the conductor asked the train driver to ask over the PA if someone could scooch over and let us sit with them. We ended up with David and Elliot of Ned's Noodle! Fancy that :)

If anyone ever has the opportunity to sit beside Andrea and Davey on the Zoo train we would highly recommend it. Great company! I can't imagine that the Zoo train will never be as much fun for us ever again.
