Considering where we were on Saturday, this has to be the fewest pictures I've ever gotten of our host family. I guess I just really didn't see much of Riley (she was in the pool); Mayah was always zooming by too quickly to be caught on (digital) film and Seth was my little shadow.
...anyway, Saturday was Riley and her uncle Todd's birthday. We spent the day at the Abelmans for an awesome summer birthday bash! And woo hoo, our friends the Floystrups are now part of the in crowd so they were too!! Here's Consuelo, Andy, Jim, Paul and Kat.
It was SO hot out in Chilliwack. And there wasn't a whole lot of shade (though they're planting new trees so eventually that'll be better!) Tash had the awesome idea to put the sprinkler out. Me and Kat were glad :)
Tink cooled off by sitting in the pool. And after her bout of sun stroke on Wednesday (Thursday? Friday??), she knew to keep her hat on the whole time yesterday.
Another way to keep cool? Have a water fight!
Then it was time to eat. Mnnn, Darren bbq'd some delicious burgers and smokies and Tash made sure there was lots of other great food to eat. Thanks guys!
The little kids were back to playing in the sand/shade. I don't think the older kids got out of the pool, except to ride Patriot.
These two aren't fighting over that rocket, they carried it around like that all afternoon.
Here's where Ashlie spent the day. I was seriously jealous!!
And here Kat and Tinker are meeting Patriot.
Jade went for a spin on him. Thanks to Brittany Byers for letting us all enjoy her horse.
And Ashlie had a turn.
Then it was back to the pool!
Jade didn't trust her mom that the life vest would keep her afloat. So she doubled up on the safety by floating around in a ring as well.
Elisabeth was busy making sure she got a piece of cake.
What an awesome party! And now we have less than two weeks till the Floystrup birthday party. We love birthday season!!
