Seattle Zoo!

Finally realized a long held dream of visiting the Seattle Zoo this summer. Dang, it's a long drive!

This zoo is so different from our zoo, and again from the Toronto zoo which is really the only other zoo we've been to.

 We were so happy with the diversity of animals. It really felt like they were a long way off (they had fantastic habitats, but they were huge habitats for the most part) but looking at these pictures, they must not have been that far away.

The only downside was that we couldn't bring food with us across the border, and so we were all pretty hangry, really fast.

 They had each region set up with vignettes so it kinda felt like you were visiting the area and not just seeing the animals.

 AND THEY EVEN HAD GOATS.

 After the zoo, we decided to visit Pike Place. OF COURSE that meant walking past the original starbucks. The line up to go in was ridiculously long, so I only took this picture!

 Then the kids had their first wander through the market.

 We got a picture of the crumpet shop just for Chadya!
