The Fourth Annual Pumpkin Carving and Bonfire Extravaganza

Four years ago we started a tradition with our best buds. Every October we visit a pumpkin patch and pick out pumpkins, then head to the Abelmans for a pumpkin carving contest and bonfire. Today was our day so we headed to the Chilliwack Corn Maze.

We had some fun waiting for the Abelmans to arrive.

And then everyone hopped in a wagon for a chauffeur pulled ride to the patch.

I was gratified to know that mine aren't the only pumpkins not turning orange this fall. We had a hard time finding big or orange pumpkins, but eventually we all found some pumpkins we thought would be worth carving.

Hiding in the sunflower patch.

Elisabeth got a ride in the wheel chair.

Look what we found in the pumpkin patch!

Then it was back to the ranch to carve the pumpkins!

This year EVERYONE did a really good job. And I think everyone did some scooping.

Some people were a little more competitive than others.

And some of us needed jumping breaks in between!

Hey guys, let's get a picture of all of you over here!

Hmn....

Can't you just all say cheese and smile?

uhh
Never mind...

I'll try the adults instead...

Behave yourselves!

*sigh*
No pretty pictures today. We're all too wacky. I blame the halloween candy Tash put out for us.

oh, and she also made David a birthday cake.

And got glow bands (which the kids ate on the way home. Yes, they really did. And then refused to say why their mouths were burning!)

The finished products!

And another birthday present!

Wow. Awesome end to a spectacular weekend. Thanks guys!
